13. Take Breaks Between Food Groups
Two hours after fruit, three after starches, four after proteins. Rather than eating three meals a day, eat smaller meals more often. It’s easier for your body to digest and less likely to cause a post meal slump.
14. Don’t Eat Dessert Right Away
Wait a few hours between meals and sweets. Because sugar takes extra time for your body to absorb and slows the whole digestive process, desserts basically stop digestion.
15. Eat Non-Starchy Vegetables with All Meals
Non-starchy veggies fill you up, help with the fat-burning process, and maintain fast metabolism. Lettuce, asparagus and spinach, whether fresh or frozen, are great additions to any meal. Try scrambled eggs and spinach for breakfast and use veggies in salads and as sides.
