10. Melon
Melon is digested faster than any other fruit. Watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew are all in season and are full of so many of the vitamins and minerals our bodies need.
11. Fruit with Nuts
Eat these in a 5:1 fruit-to-nut ratio. Slice apples and fresh peaches, mix in walnut halves and top with a little cinnamon. It’s a sweet afternoon treat or a great side salad.
12. Mix Acidic Fruits
Mix acidic fruit, such as grapefruits, strawberries and sub-acidic fruit, such as apples and grapes. Don’t combine either with sweet fruits, such as bananas or dried fruits. Your body digests acidic fruits and sub-acidic fruits at a different rate than sweet fruits. Mixing the groups could result in bloating and intestinal distress.
