Simpson’s got plenty of company; it’s a topic the tabloids and gossip sites love weighing in on—literally. “See Keri Russell’s Amazing Bod Less Than 2 Weeks After Giving Birth,” trumpeted Us Weekly recently. “Don’t hate on them because they’re famous, hate on them because they look so darn good after having kids” quipped the New York Daily News, which offered a slideshow with “before and after” pictures of celeb moms. “I Got My Body Back,” blared the cover of November 9, 2011 Us Weekly, which featured Mariah Carey in shorts and a midriff-baring top, along with the headline “30lbs in 3 months!” And as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig, Carey—who gave birth to twins Morrocan and Monroe in April of last year—flaunts her “after” body in commercials for the weight loss program wearing high heels and another midriff-baring ensemble.
