6. Prepare Yourself
Consider this your warning—therapy is not always pretty. It’s not about sugarcoating your issues. What you hear will not be flattering and may upset you. But you have dig up all your ugly problems in order to embrace something more beautiful on the other side. Do not hold back, do not ignore what your partner is saying and do not be naïve. No one is perfect and you’re about to hear how imperfect you are. Be strong, be open and be prepared. You will be fine—maybe even better when all is said and done.
