14. Pack your own lunches
When you pack lunches for picnics or seaside getaways, you usually add some fruit veggies, and due to size limitations, your portions are controlled. Eating out in cafeterias and restaurants pack on the calories and fat, so pack your lunch a few times a week instead. It’s also better for your waistline and your wallet.
15. Eat a Salad Every Day
Make it a habit to serve yourself a fiber rich, nutritious salad with at least one meal a day. Prewashed salads make it easy to pile on your plate with chicken, fish, pasta or whatever you’ve prepared that day. Adding olive oil and avocados will also add the ‘smart fats’ that are linked to reduced mortality.
