With summer around the corner and the nicer weather inspiring you to all new heights, why not start some new healthy living habits that will last a lifetime, if not into the fall at least? We humans are creatures of habits, but sometimes bad habits can be the hardest to break. And starting good habits, like sleeping eight hours and going to the gym, can be excruciatingly difficult to fit into our demanding schedules. Christine Whelan, a public sociologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an expert with AARP’s Life Reimagined Institute, in an interview with the Washington Post, said, “A lot of times, people don’t ask why. And that’s another key. Make sure that what you’re trying to change is something you really want to do, not something you feel you should do. You’re much less likely to accomplish a change if you don’t want to do it, and it’s not in keeping with your values.”

According to Whelan, if you’ve kept at the new habit of your choosing for 90 days, you’re likely to stick with it for a good while. You’ll also know if you’ve achieved a new habit when there’s not all that noisy internal debate going on before you do it.  Experts also say its best to start with one or two new goals so you don’t overwhelm yourself and stick to it. Here are 15 healthy habit suggestions to start incorporating into your life this summer.  Good healthy living habits are addicting too you know.

1. Start Your Day with a Glass of Lemon Water
This is one of the best healthy habits out there. Not only can it fight off dragon breath, it hydrates, helps against constipation, provides vitamin C, and due its uric acid, it can help with the body’s aches and pains.
