There’s nothing like the evidence of a girls’ night out on Instagram to force us to confront the reality that the glamorous coral lipstick we were sporting makes our teeth look totally yellow. Makeup artist Tina Turnbow tells Elle that choosing the right lipstick shades can make all the difference in how white—or how yellow—your teeth look. She generally advises anyone with less-than-perfectly-white teeth to stick to more “Blue-based pink or red,” and avoid brown-based colors.
