2. The Notebook
This is one of the most iconic love movies to date—even for guys. Nicholas Sparks knows how to write a love story that makes us smile one second and curl up in a fetal position in tears the next. And while many of his romantic tales have this affect, nothing quite compares to The Notebook. Maybe it’s because Ryan Gosling is so dreamy, so lovesick and so tormented. Maybe it’s because Rachel McAdams is so adorable and lost, or maybe it’s because their chemistry just oozes out of the screen. Whatever the reason, this movie makes us believe in true, lasting, all-consuming (though messy and heartbreaking) love.
