The solution was to get a BA so I could teach K-12. But after I graduated, my teachers encouraged me to pursue an MFA. It made sense to me, as instead of only having the option of teaching K-12, I could teach at the college level, which I preferred. I am happy to say I am one semester from graduating with an MFA and filling out job applications for teaching both in high school and college. The degree has given me a sense of confidence and security that I will find the job I want in the near future.
