May is National Bike Month. Established back in 1956, National Bike Month is designed to showcase the many health benefits of bicycling and, of course, to encourage more people to give biking a try.

President John F. Kennedy said, “Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of riding a bike.” But, in many parts of our nation, it is difficult to find safe and convenient routes to bike on. Many main arteries are not really bike-accessible. Some popular biking locations, like parks, historic sites and scenic routes must first be reached by car or bus. But, the situation is improving. More and more accessible bike trails are being established around the U.S. Some existing ones are just unforgettable, too. Check out this list of bike trails you must add to your biking bucket list!
