The truth is, the lucky penny superstition is only one of many myths about luck (good or bad) that people like to believe. Although, our rational minds know that we live in an empirical world of cause and effect, so many things are beyond our control that it’s comforting to think that a ritual or a chance event can swing fortune our way.
