Velasquez had no idea who the cyberbully was who posted the video. For two months, she felt paralyzed with grief. Her family and friends were worried about her.

Eventually Velasquez decided it was time to take matters into her own hands. “It didn’t happen overnight, it happened over years, when I realized with the help of my parents to turn it into something positive,” she recalls. She was headed to college at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas when she decided to create her own video.
