Lately, transgender celebrities are coming out with more confidence, to which we say, heck yes! We all suffer from insecurities and we all have aspects of our appearance that we wish we could change or improve. But for approximately .3% of adults in the US, the feeling of not being comfortable in your own skin is a much deeper issue. In recent years there has been a rise in the number of individuals who identify as transgender, which is defined as “an umbrella term for people whose gender identity and/or gender expression differs from what is typically associated with the sex they were assigned at birth,” according to GLAAD.
