July 2, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and it is still a timely discussion topic. The hit Broadway play, All the Way, tells the story of how the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed. It’s also the subject of two new books recently reviewed in The New York Times.
