More and more celeb moms are getting into the baby biz. Jessica Alba recently added savvy and socially conscious entrepreneur to her resume with the launch of The Honest Co. The breathtakingly gorgeous, insanely talented, and proud mom of two equally gorgeous little girls, Alba follows a string of mommy celebs who have created companies catering to babies. Her newest creation features safe, eco-friendly, beautifully packaged and affordable family essentials delivered right to your door each month.
Jessica tells CNN.com that she was inspired to start The Honest Co. “When I was pregnant three-and-a-half years ago with my daughter, Honor, I started researching how to have a safe home. I was shocked to learn how many dangerous chemicals were in the products I used, including many I had assumed were safe.”
For a limited time you can sample their wares with a free Discovery Package containing a sampler of diapers, wipes, bath, skincare and household products. And if that weren’t enough, The Honest Co. is partnering with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization providing needy Los Angeles families with essential baby gear and clothing.
And Ms. Alba is certainly not the only celeb in the baby biz—she’s in excellent company with these other enterprising star moms.
Actress Jenny McCarthy has been an active spokeswoman for autism education and treatment since her son was diagnosed with the disorder at 2-years-old. Seeing what drastic improvement making diet and lifestyle changes (such as removing all BPA products from her home) made in her son’s autism symptoms, Jenny was moved to create Too Good by Jenny, a line of inexpensive, non-toxic crib bedding and juvenile products.
Gwen Stefani has fabulously reprised her Harajuku Mini for Target line with a rock star-worthy, nautically themed collection ranging from $4-$30. It’s available now but only for a limited time—so snap it up before it’s gone!
Soleil Moon Frye has developed her own mommy media empire including The Little Seed, an eco-friendly boutique for kids. You’ve got to love their tag line: green in every color. The shop carries adorable, colorful, low impact clothes for little ones and moms have to check out the Little Seed online community and blog.
And last, but definitely not least, we’re all waiting with baited breath to see if the rumors that Rachel Zoe is planning her own baby clothing line in the near future are really true!
