Have you somehow been sweet-talked by someone special to spend a few days with them in the woods? If this goes against your nature of plugging in your electronic gadgets to survive (your phone, hair dryer, computer, iPad, Wi-Fi, electric shaver, fridge, etc.), do not panic just yet. In fact, you have been asked to go into the wilderness at the perfect time: glamping now exists for the camping amateur. It’s a glamorous type of camping. Imagine hotel-equipped yurts, treehouses and luxury tents. The best part is that a lot of these sites come with bedrooms set up in the wild with hot tubs, air-conditioning, white-linen dinners and minibars.
Yes, glamour camping has become such the norm, that it is now offered around the world, from sites in Yellowstone Park, South American rain forests and for African safaris. According to Traci Carl, a mother of two and reporter for the Associated Press, this type of camping is easier than doing it all yourself in the wild, but can range from costly to very expensive. “Some affordable, bare-bones options exist, but glamping is often expensive, running anywhere from a few hundred dollars a night to more than $1,000.” said Carl. If nature is calling you from an electrical socket, here are 10 fierce glamping sites to consider visiting around the world.
