This is a simple and delicious recipe. Perfect for two as an appetizer! Ceviches are part of the national cuisines of many countries in Latin America and this recipe is a traditional Mexican one.
CEVICHE SECRETS
The key is a good fish and you can substitute the tuna with any other fish that is firm and fresh or ask your fishmonger for the catch of the day. Don’t forget to mention that is going to be used for ceviche!

TUNA CEVICHE (CEVICHE DE ATÚN)
Serves: 2
Ingredients
¼ lb fresh tuna, ½” cubed
¼ cup lime juice
2 TBSP olive oil
2 roma tomatoes
2 TBSP chopped onion
2 TBSP fresh cilantro, chopped
1 chile serranos or to taste, chopped
4 green olives pitted and chopped
2 TSP capers, chopped
Salt to taste
Garnish:
½ avocado, sliced
1 cup tortilla chips
Instructions
- Place the cubed fish in a glass bowl, sprinkle with salt and cover with lime juice and let it marinate at least for ½ hour.
- Add the chopped ingredients and the olive oil, season with salt; mix well, serve in cold glass bowls;
- Decorate with avocado slices if you like.
- Serve with tortilla chips as accompaniment.
