3. Be Surgical
This is break-up advice 101. Make a clean break. Make no promises of trying again in the future. Treat it like splinter. You have to swallow hard and that yank that sucker out.
4. Be Honest
Tell the truth. There’s a reason you want to break up. You should share it. It may hurt you both, but the two of you will be on the same page (and will learn too) if you fully understand what’s not working.
5. Be a Grownup
Don’t play the blame game. Take responsibility for your own behavior. Feel free to say, ‘It’s not you, it’s me,’ if it really is you.
