8. Linda Pugach
In 1959, 22-year-old Linda Riss was blinded when spurned boyfriend Burton N. Pugach hired a man to throw acid in her face, one of the darker stories of domestic violence out there. He was imprisoned for over 10 years for the incident and never stopped wooing Linda. They were married in 1974 and a 2007 documentary, Crazy Love, tells their bizarre tale.
