TheAdelanteMovement_Webinar_SEPT2016_main PHOTOContinuing her roll-out of inspired, entrepreneur-driven outreach initiatives to Hispanic women across the United States, Nely Galan’s much touted Adelante Movement has partnered with Coca-Cola and DiMe Media to produce a series of webinars focused on one of the fastest growing industries for Latina entrepreneurs: The Food Industry.

The first webinar in a series of three is to be held on Thursday, Oct 6th at 1:00 p.m. EST / 10 a.m. PST. Registration to attend this remote webinar can be accessed at: http://theadelantemovement.com/food

Titled ‘Entrepreneur Opportunities in the Food Industry,’ this first webinar features Women’s Foodservice Forum President and CEO Hattie Hill. In it, Hill and Galan will discuss growing opportunities in the food industry beyond food itself. According to press materials, Hill will “teach key business skills for running a business, and how women are and can work smarter to achieve success.”

Nely Galan has turned many heads in media, business and education with her work, which centers on inspiring women toward personal entrepreneurship and multiple-skill development across many disciplines. A veteran television producer and at one point the youngest person to head a major network (Telemundo), she is most recently the New York Times Bestselling author of Self Made: Becoming Empowered, Self-Reliant, and Rich in Every Way.

Galan’s business acumen has resonated, with her appearing on press outlets using her signature moniker of “Don’t’ buy shoes. Buy Buildings!”— a popular mantra she uses as a way to encourage women to think “bigger” than a shopping spree. As a result, Galan has become an example of what many people, regardless of gender, aspire to be; a mogul with a penchant for social good and helping others achieve their dreams.

Some of Galan’s other more popular mantras include “Your Are Your Own Prince Charming,” to which she means no one will save you but you, and “Make Fear and Failure Your Best Friends,” Galan’s way of inspiring women to be bold, take risks and never be afraid of learning from what can go wrong.

According to press materials, “over the past decade, there has been a nearly 200% increase in Latina-owned business, a sign of enormous growth by any measure, especially when compared to the 55% increase made by their non-Hispanic female counterparts.”

Press materials go on to state that among the 500 largest Hispanic-owned businesses, 35 are centered on food, each with a wide array of Food related business angles; everything from food franchising to distribution and even manufacturing.

Beyond the first webinar on October 6th, the other two scheduled in the series include ‘Creating a Food Business’ featuring celebrity Chef Lala, and a third on ‘Franchising as a Family Business’ with Nicole Enearu, owner of a McDonald’s franchise she started as a family business with her mom and sister.
