8. Colombians value Vacation and Rest
If you spend most of your time stressed, overworked and exhausted, then you can imagine how a country that values down-time, vacation and relaxation would make people very happy. As ABC reports, Colombia is tied with Argentina for having the most public holidays (18!). Which means that locals get a chance to celebrate with loved ones and get guaranteed time off from work, which in our experience usually leads to happiness.
9. They Bond Over a Love of Football
Sports can bring a country together in a way that energizes a nation and makes people excited, unified and happy. And in Colombia that sport is football (aka American soccer). Colombians wear their team jerseys and colors with pride, whether they are cheering during club matches or the FIFA World Cup.
