The New York Times published an article with findings from a Stanford University study on the effectiveness of multitasking. The title is very telling: The Mediocre Multitasker. Researchers at Stanford concluded that multitaskers don’t focus as well as those who have their mind on just one task at a time. Multitaskers are more prone to distraction and weaker at task completion and organization. They have higher stress levels. Basically the study suggests what we all already suspect: that it’s time to slow down.
