According to the Authentic Happiness website, a University of Pennsylvania website developed by the Positive Psychology Center, “open-mindedness is the willingness to search actively for evidence against one’s favored beliefs, plans, or goals, and to weigh such evidence fairly when it is available.” Remember that being open-minded doesn’t imply that you are incapable of making your own conclusions, but rather that you are able to evaluate all of the possible outcomes and alternatives, and then form an opinion (and take action) accordingly.
