Establish Common Ground
If you want to be able to see eye-to-eye with someone else who happens to have a different opinion than you, you need to establish a sense of shared humanity, reports Psychology Today. Focus on what you do have in common, such as shared interests, a similar background, passions, experiences etc. By establishing that you aren’t so different after all, you’ll be able to communicate in a more healthy way as you both open your minds and embrace how you see things differently.
