Take it easy. Remember that your teen has a lot going on. Between school, homework, projects, part time jobs, chores, applying to college, extracurricular activities, friends, family obligations, and hobbies, chances are he may sincerely not have time to keep his room as tidy as you’d like. Decide what is good enough and let him slide a little when you know he’s had a busy week. Before you know it, your teen will fly the nest and be off to university. That once messy room will be empty, that carpet once covered in heaps of laundry will be visible, and you may be surprised to realize that you’d give anything to see a dirty sock on the floor one more time.
