Talk to them about gratitude. Sometimes we underestimate how smart our kids are. Even if you think they are too young to understand something as complicated as giving and gratitude, you might be surprised. Talk to them about it. Explain to them why gratitude is important, how it makes other people feel and above all, demonstrate gratitude in your own actions. Do one generous or caring thing for your family every day and explain that you are doing it because you love them and that’s what people do for their family.
