That said, there are times when straight up peanut butter and jelly gets a little boring so we went in search of some non-traditional ways to prepare (and eat) a PB&J sandwich. Former U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey was quoted as saying that is his favorite sandwich consisted of “peanut butter, baloney, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and mayonnaise on toasted bread with catsup on the side.” Wait, he forgot the jelly! While you need not get as…umm…creative as Mr. Humphrey did, we did find some interesting variations on the classic PB&J.
