CHANGING YOUR NAME: THINGS TO CONSIDER
A dear friend, Rachel, said that she decided to change her name because she believes that changing your name upon marriage “gives you a stronger sense of union and family.” She does allow that she misses her maiden name because it carries memories of childhood and adolescence and that the name attached her to her parents. But she always knew should would take on her husband’s name, whatever that name would’ve been. For her, taking on her husband’s name meant that she was starting her own family, and she is happy about her decision.
