She’s drop-dead gorgeous, insanely talented, and super stylish—as if there weren’t enough reasons to envy Zoë Saldana, we have one more: she’s a brilliant businesswoman too! Zoë and her fiancé, former model Keith Britton, have partnered to create My Fashion Database (MyFDB). MyFDB is the fashionista’s version of IMDb and the site is a treasure trove of information for the fashion obsessed (myself included!) and industry insiders. According to Valerie Boster, editor of Vogue magazine, “MyFDB has quickly become my go-to site. It is an index and news resource in one click.”
Saldana’s interest in fashion and innate sense of style runs in the family; her mother and grandmother were both seamstresses. Describing her inspiration for creating MyFDB, she told TODAY.com “In Hollywood, I can’t live without IMDb; thirty minutes before I go out to meet a director, I look up what studios he’s worked with, what movie he wrote … I wanted to do the same for fashion.”
With sections on Covers, Editorials, Campaigns, People, and Companies, as well as a blog and RSS feed of everything fashion—the site is positively addicting. You can quickly and easily find out everything you want to know about your favorite model, designer, photographer, stylist, or ad campaign. And a vintage section is in the works—swoon! MyFDB also helps those, often unsung, heroes working behind the scenes get credit for their fantastic work.
If Zoë and Keith’s business-partnership is any indication, they have a phenomenal marriage to look forward to. So there’s one more reason to envy her!
