Marilyn struggled with chronic pain as well as endometriosis for most of her adult life. Sofia was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in 2002. Happily, after surgery, she was declared cancer-free.
10. Both know the frustration of being typecast.
We know Sofia is typecast as the fiery Latina, of course, and often Marilyn was typecast as the dumb blonde. Marilyn quickly tired of this though and was desperate to be taken seriously for her acting ability.
