India is thought to be the birthplace of the modern kiss, as we know it. The earliest artistic representations we have of kissing are found in Indian sculpture. Anthropologists believe that kissing resulted from “Eskimo kissing” and the practice of taking in one another’s breath. Today, kissing is not represented in Bollywood films and not acceptable PDA in many parts of India.
