Vegetables pack in the nutrients and can give your sandwich a healthy boost. Beyond nutrition, veggies can also add a ton of flavor, texture and color to your sandwich. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and go beyond lettuce, tomato and onion. Pickled veggies lend an interesting acidic flavor, avocado adds a rich and smooth texture and coleslaw or cucumbers give it some crunch.
