8. Sir John Strange
Strange was an 18th-Century English jurist who was, successively, a member of parliament, Recorder of London, King’s Counsel and Attorney General for England and Wales. His epitaph reflects his honesty and is a play of words on his name.
Here lies an honest lawyer,
And that is Strange.
