8. Capitalize on promotional offers so you can earn additional miles.
Some cards offer more miles on specific purchases or during specific times of year. Or better yet, certain promotional offers let you to choose which purchases will earn you the most rewards. Put your strategic spending to use and take advantage of those opportunities to get more points without necessarily more spending.
9. Be flexible with your travel.
If you can be flexible with your travel plans (the dates, the location etc.) then you might be able to get a better deal not only on travel costs but also on getting bonus miles towards your next trip.
