9. Coca Cola
Not exactly the soft drink we now know, Dr. John S. Pemberton sold Pemberton’s French Wine Coca as a nerve tonic, stimulant , and headache remedy in his native Atlanta, GA. An 1886 prohibition law forced him to remove the alcohol from his wine, he sweetened it with sugar and added soda water. And behold, Coca Cola, an industry icon was born.
