7. Books About Friendship
Sometimes kids learn better when they can relate and they’re having fun. And sometimes fictional characters in books are much more entertaining and relatable than parents. Read books about friendship, meeting new people and sharing to show your kids the benefits of making friends and some fun ways to do it. We love all the books by Mo Willems, especially Should I Share My Ice Cream and My New Friend is so Fun!
8. Role-Play
Have your child practice meeting new people and making friends by acting out different scenarios that might happen at school. You can take turns being the new kid in the group and show your child a few they can do to help them fit in and make other kids feel welcome as well.
