In the other football world (soccer to us Americans), fans were shocked when several Fifa officials were arrested and charged with crimes including fraud, bribery and collusion.
Deflategate
With no more Lance Armstrong doping dirt to dig up, 2015 brought a much tamer scandal — Deflategate. It began way back in January when officials became suspicious that the New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady had been intentionally using underinflated footballs. The resulting investigation led to four-game suspension for Tom Brady, which was overturned in September.
