- Practice self-compassion. Imagine someone else having gone through what you went through. You would be compassionate towards them. Do the same for yourself.
- Try to find the humor in the situation and laugh at your own dumb move.
- Congratulate yourself for making a mistake—you are human!
- And lastly, remember: It always could have been worse! Always!
