Let’s not overlook the fact that Trump did beat out two candidates who happen to have Cuban-American roots. Senator Marco Rubio immigrated to the US from Cuba, and Senator Ted Cruz’s father was also born and raised in Cuba. In Nevada specifically, 45% of registered Republican Hispanics voted for him, compared to 27% for Rubio and 18% for Cruz.
