The news brings with it a number of speculative questions about not just the changing face of America, but its changing demographic profile and related challenges. The majority of non-whites in the U.S. still face gaps in income, education and opportunity, and the gap between rich and poor is the greatest it’s been since the 1970s. So when the majority of young people in the U.S. are non-white, these disparities will become more overt—unless they’re remedied.
