7. Steamed Broccoli with Cheese Sauce
Steam your broccoli so it’s bright green and soft for kids to chew. While it’s getting hot and heavy in the pot, create a simple cheese sauce. Don’t know how? We got you covered. Combine one tablespoon of butter with one tablespoon of flour until hot and smooth over a medium heat in your sauce pan. Add a cup or two of milk and stir continuously until it starts to thicken. Once it’s just under your desired consistency (it will thicken a tiny bit more), stir in chunks of your favorite cheese to taste (some people like a lot of cheese, others prefer less). And just like that, you’ve made your own cheese sauce to serve alongside those little green trees.
