But home invasions by wildlife go way beyond snakes. It is literally a zoo out there. Take the 2003 case of Antoine Yates, for example. When a team of New York City policemen was sent to his Harlem home, officers immediately heard unusually loud and menacing growling noises coming from inside the apartment—only to discover that Yates had been harboring a 425-pound tiger and an alligator as pets. Yates was an animal lover and claimed to adore all living creatures as his own—but let’s face it, few among us really care to mother nature in such an intimate way.
