The words homemade bread alone are enough to get us drooling. Sadly however, most of us have given up carbs, particularly bread, at one point of our lives. You probably remember how painful it was to go out to dinner and have to ignore the breadbasket or to pass by a bakery with the smell of heavenly bread wafting by your nose. American food writer M.F.K Fisher once said, “The smell of good bread baking, like the sound of lightly flowing water, is indescribable in its evocation of innocence and delight.”
Why deprive yourself of innocent delight? The following list will not only make you run back to carbs, it will make you question why you ever left. Go ahead, try out a homemade bread recipe (or twelve!) in honor of Homemade Bread Day on November 17so you can at least say it’s all natural. Then share it with your friends, especially those on ridiculous no-bread diets.
1. Banana Walnut Bread
If you love banana walnut muffins, you’ll go bananas for this homemade bread recipe. The hardest part about preparing this is the having to wait for the bananas to get ripe enough for cooking. All good things are worth the wait.
