While many cosmetic products now offer an SPF factor, it isn’t enough to fully protect your skin. You still need sunscreen.
13. SPF 50 is the same as SPF 30.
There are essentially two types of skin protection offered by sunscreens. Zinc oxide (see #2, above) and Titanium oxide are chemicals that actually block UV rays. Other sunscreen ingredients, like octinoxate, absorb UV radiation, breaking down in the process (which is why you should periodically re-apply). It’s the ingredients you need to pay attention to, not just the SPF Factor.
