14. Cancel Your Service
Okay so don’t actually cancel your cable (your husband would kill you), just threaten to. Often if you call to cancel a service like cable or Internet, the provider will offer you a discounted rate to remain a customer. We know it’s sneaky saving advice, but it can be effective.
15. Look for Warehouse, Outlet, Open-Box, or Refurbished
Stores like Barney’s, Ann Taylor and J. Crew have an Outlet section on their websites with drastically discounted merchandise. Many electronics retailers offer Open Box or Refurbished products at a discount too. And if you’re in the store and see something that’s slightly damaged but still perfectly usable, ask for a discount.
