11. Explore Other Holiday Traditions
We all celebrate different holidays, and we all celebrate those holidays a little differently around the world. Teach your kids about the many ways to celebrate as a family, the different holidays that take place and the many traditions people practice. They will learn a new perspective and you just might learn a thing or two as well.
12. Aquariums & Zoos
A visit to nearby zoos or aquariums are great educational activities for kids and you can do a little last-minute holiday shopping at the gift shop.
13. Adopt a Grandparent
Not all kids are lucky enough to have living grandparents, and not all older folks are lucky enough to have grandkids or family nearby. Check with local nursing homes or VolunteerMatch.org for Adopt a Grandparent programs where families with kids can connect with older people looking to have some companionship during the holiday season and beyond.
