7. Desensitization to violence.
Violence is everywhere. It’s in video games, all over the news, and saturating television shows and movies. Overall, we are a desensitized people and don’t feel as strongly about acts of violence as prior generations.
8. American history.
Our history is filled with violence and America does not have a particularly peaceful past. As parents, we are expected to effectively explain to our children that it’s okay to shoot someone in certain situations (such as self defense) but not in others. No easy task as gun violence statistics keep climbing every year.
