10. If You See Something, Say Something
This message is plastered all over public transportation in major cities ever since 9/11. It’s a great reminder that every one of us can protect ourselves and can protect others from dangerous situations. If you see anything suspicious or something that makes you scared, leave immediately, yell “NO!” or “HELP!” and seek help from a police officer.
11. Know Your Address
It’s crucial to teach your kids where you live from a young age. They should know their address and how to get there or key landmarks that are nearby, should they ever get lost. But as important as it is for them to know their address, it’s also important they only share that information in an emergency and they don’t offer those facts to strangers.
