What holiday eye shadows to choose from? Here are my faves!
What do you love more, chocolate and gold or onyx and silver? Exactly. You can’t choose. Thank you. There’s no point in stressing; you’re just going to have to get both of these guys and pretend you’re going to give away one as a gift (to yourself, that is).
Bobbi Brown’s Limited Edition Chocolate & Gold Eye Paint Palette ($45) is a sublime quartet of long-wearing, densely pigmented, highly reflective, shimmery warmth: New Gold is a sheer soft gold; New Bronze is a deeper beige gold; New Black Gold is black with gold pearl particles; and New Chocolate is a rich brown with gold pearl particles. There’s nothing you can do to fight the power. Just surrender and bow down to the greatness that is Bobbi. But wait.
Before you go all the way down, look at the other palette. Bobbi Brown’s Limited Edition Onyx & Silver Eye Paint Palette ($45) is an equally swoon-worthy foursome of mysteriously cool silvers and icy metallic blues and black. The orbs look like the dark side and the light side of the moon: New Tinsel is a sheer delicate silver; New Silver is a smoky silver with blue undertones; New Blue Onyx is a deep indigo blue; and New Lava is ebony with silver pearl particles.
I’m just sitting here shaking my head—how does Bobbi do it? Both palettes are ultra-glam and dramatic but completely controllable and wearable day or night depending on the concentration of application, and whether you use them dry or wet, with a fingertip or a brush.
They’re fun and meant to be played and experimented with, so don’t get mental because they look intense. Any chica can rock these.
Lagniappes:
• Couple these powder palettes with Bobbi’s Dual Ended Eye Liners for ultimate, metallic, yuletide Bobbi-osity.
• Curl your eyelashes and go with majorly lengthening, blackest-black mascara.
• Keep cheeks and lips soft so your face looks balanced, fresh, and modern.
