7. Above & Beyond
If you already do more than your job requires or more than your coworkers with the same title, make sure your boss is fully aware of your accomplishments. Let your boss know right away that you’re going above and beyond. Then, at a later date, you can bring up your willingness to overachieve as you ask for a raise.
